Ambiguity

Prompt: Future
Form: Sonnet
Device: Chiasmus

We don’t have a future because we’re rich.
We are rich because we have a future.
Still, too many of us fear our future, for
We don’t know what the future holds – or do we?

In the future, we know black exists.
There will be many goodbyes after hellos;
Many will love to be given more and give to be loved more;
Many will act like their money is God for their God is money.

In the future, we know white exists.
There will be many hellos after goodbyes;
Many will love to live because they live to love;
Many will be the hope of a future – a future of hope.

In the future, we know grey exists too, and so does the rainbow.
One future holds so many hues – we have a choice.
