We think our sufferings are all in vain,
Fruitless pain which brings no gain.
Memories of agony we stash away
In the drawers of our mind – every day.
The more we run, the more we hide.
The more we realise we live in a lie.
You bring trials – hardships, distress.
Thus you’re shunned away.
You bring repentance – the key to new life.
Yet still we run away.
For we so fear pain, we do not see grace.
Blessed are those who find joy in you!
