Hi, I’m Christine, a cradle Catholic from Malaysia whose passions are words and music, although my greatest love by far is Jesus.
Before you read on, I have a confession to make: I wasn’t always this open about my faith, at least not here.
When this blog was first created, it was intended as a platform to share my writing, some little corner for my own creative expression. It was a solitary journey. My faith wasn’t supposed to come into the picture, because back then, I couldn’t see how coming out of the closet as a Catholic would help me grow as a young writer. So I wrote just to write – until one day, the joy of writing ran dry.
Writing for the sake of writing – an idea that used to be my sole motivation for writing – has come to be an empty promise.
Nonetheless, I wrote on, churning out whatever words I could manage, and came to realise that writing cannot be an end in itself. It’s a tool, a means to an end, so then I started trying out various subject matters in search of a purpose to continue writing. As this journey unfolded, however, I found that all the different paths that I took kept leading me back to that one person I was avoiding. I found my faith increasingly interacting with my writing, so much so that it now haunts the thoughts and emotions behind every word that I speak and write. My relationship with Jesus has become my core reason for writing – and living.
Without Him, I am nothing.
Now, I’m taking my faith beyond the cradle, and my writing beyond my personal bubble. Faith is not a private matter; it is a shared journey, one to be traveled by all seekers of God’s Kingdom. This blog is dedicated to sharing this journey with you.
Jesus has gone before us down this path, and He continues to walk with us today. So let us be not afraid, and walk in faith. Peace and God bless!
